Inutile et Indispensable

Photos

Because there are so many darned people to keep updated on various websites, I will be uploading pictures to my Facebook account but not this blog. If you’re my friend on Facebook, then you can see them there. If not, I will provide public links to albums on this page as I take them. Stay tuned. And I don’t mind if you take my pictures to use for something else, but please let me know when you do.

Ancient Lebanon – Ruins of Baalbek and Byblos (Jbeil), as well as the Beaufort crusader castle, as described in the Febuary 9th post “Adventures in Lebanon.”

Beirut I – First impressions of the city and AUB’s campus, as described in the post “Claimin’ the City,” a crazy night with a bunch of other international students, and a Downtown adventure with mom.

Beirut II — Before and after pictures of my apartment, a fantastic housewarming party, enjoying Beirut’s clubbing scene, and exploring the Corniche and AUB Beach.

Yalla! — A snowboarding adventure up to Faraya.

Beirut III — Sandra’s visit to Beirut! Pictures from around Hamra and downtown, including inside the Rafiq Hariri Mosque. Also, a few pictures from housesitting for Walid and Nicolien, since they have the most adorable cats ever.

Egypt I — I spent my Easter vacation in Egypt, and took more pictures than I probably have my whole time in Beirut. This album documents Islamic Cairo and hanging out on the Nile. As described in the post of the same name.

Egypt II — Going to the pyramids, Old Cairo, and taking the bus through the Sinai Desert to Dahab. As described in the post of the same name.

Egypt III — Summertime and the living is easy in Dahab and Nuweiba, then a trip up to Alexandria with new good friends. As described, shockingly enough, in the post of the same name.

Goodbye to Lebanon — The going away party at Xriss’ parents’ villa in the mountains, and an evening at Hard Rock Cafe Beirut.

Greece and Turkey — The first two thirds of my epic solo journey overland from Athens to Damascus.

Syria – The final chapter of my trip.
